For those of you thinking I had fallen off the blog wagon already, I am happy to prove you wrong! I have merely been catching up for lost time with this monstrosity of a post. It has been several nights (and a new computer) in the making, but the end result is worth it, I think. I hope you enjoy some of the highlights of our past year with Henry.
June and July 2008. Uncle Corey came to visit from Breckenridge, CO. He lives in Austin now, and we are happy to have him closer! Henry started school in July. Here he is looking handsome, and feeling excited about the occasion.
August 2008. Henry tried solids! Aside from the super cute pics, it was rather anticlimactic. He took to solids slowly, until I started making his food. (Can't say I blame him much; some of the stuff in the jars is just weird.) Considering he will be eating us out of house and home soon enough, I should probably be grateful for that. He is great little eater these days; likes what he likes, but always willing to try something new.
September 2008. One of my dearest friends and college roommates, Susana, married one of my best friends from high school, David. Before their wedding in New Jersey, we enjoyed a few days in Newport, Rhode Island.
October 2008. We visited the Birds in Westminster, CO. Meggan and Brady welcomed their first child, Sloan Bentley Bird in December of 2008. Impressively, Meggan was still running in October. While the boys partook of football festivities, Meg and Kim worked the Netflix queue. Henry, meanwhile, snuggled in his new Patagonia fleece -so stinkin' cute.
November 2008. Henry is officially on the move. (This video was actually taken in October, when he started crawling, but for the sake of the completeness of my timeline, we'll pretend it was November.) The second video really was taken in November. Just one of those purely joyful moments I never want to forget.
December 2008. Merry Christmas! We are so thankful for our many, many blessings. Henry had a great time exploring the Christmas tree and opening his gifts. A couple days after Christmas, the three of us had a great time breaking in one of Daddy's presents -a hiking pack, which is clearly comfortable enough to nap in!
January 2009. Happy New Year! Here is Henry looking longingly out the kitchen window at the new swing on his swingset. For a change, it was too cold in Texas to play outside.
February 2009. Kim completed her fourth marathon in Austin, Texas. It was nothing short of torture, but seeing Ben and Henry at the finish made it all worth it!
The starting line...
Henry looking concerned after seeing Mom at Mile 22.5.
March 2009. Kim and Henry visited Susana and David in NYC. Unfortunately, Ben had to stay home and study.
The plane ride to NYC... It was H's seventh time on a plane, but his first time flying solo with mom. Both did great!
Central Park... Cold, but beautiful.
"The Keyboard" (and then some) at FAO Schwarz.
April 2009. Henry Hubert Scott turns one!
We also traveled to Wichita Falls (a six hour car drive!) for the first time. We visited GG, as well as the resting place of Henry's namesake, my grandfather, Hubert Griffith.
Henry and GG...
Henry and Papa...
