Portland or Bust!

Over Columbus Day weekend, Henry and I visited Meme and Grandpa in BEAUTIFUL Portland, Oregon. We sure do miss them here in Texas, but Portland does make for a lovely vacation. Needless to say, we had a wonderful time! Thanks, Meme and Grandpa for having us. For those of you that weren't there, here's a brief recap:

Day One. Henry and Mom leave San Antonio at 6:00 a.m. We fly to Denver (1 hour and 40 minutes). Henry falls asleep on the descent into DIA. We fly to Portland (2 hours and 45 minutes). HENRY DOES NOT SLEEP A WINK! Thankfully, I had escaped to Target the night before and loaded my carry-on with never-before-seen toys and a portable DVD player, made complete with a Thomas the Train DVD.

After arriving in Portland, Henry was thrilled to see Meme waiting for him at the airport! Of course, he promptly fell asleep once he had him in the car. Later that afternoon, we met Grandpa and went to the Roloff Farm in Helvetia, Oregon. While there, Henry refused to ride the pony and instead spent his time trying to lift the largest pumpkin he could find.

Day Two. It began the way all good days do, with a great breakfast at a yummy neighborhood diner in Nob Hill. Later that day, we explored the Portland Rose Gardens. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the roses -must have been busy chasing H!

Day Three. The Oregon Zoo in Portland. One word to sum it up: Incredible. And we only saw half!

Grandpa and Henry checking out the hippos.

Meme and Henry rock climbing in the cat quarters.

The train... very serious stuff!

Henry makes buddies with an orangutan.

Henry vs. Bear.

The End... Henry leaving with his souvenirs! Thanks for one of our best days ever, Meme and Grandpa!

Day Four. We left. Not exactly a photo op, especially at 4:30 in the morning. : (

But, we sure can't wait to come back!
